ANIMAL CAMP JAMAICA
Web Design & Development, User Interface Design, Logo Design
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Animal Camp Jamaica (ACJ) is the sister camp of Cub Creek Science Camp. Following the redesign of the main business website, it was time to tackle this website. With both camps having a business relation, I wanted the overall layout and design to have a similar cohesive feel. Project objectives for this site consisted of creating a user friendly site that can easily show services. Secondly, to design a website that established the brand identity of Animal Camp Jamaica showcasing the company as the ultimate summer adventure. User goals included signing up for camp, engaging users with company social media and reading the blog.
LOGO DESIGN
A new logo was created for this website redesign. Working alongside the creative director, Ari Farley (ACJ program director) she provided an intimate knowledge of the island culture. This new logo is a combination of a symbol / wordmark / and lettermark. It was a goal to create something versatile that adapts well across different mediums, i.e. print, web, email, social media. Looking at the logo, you see a hummingbird consuming from a hibiscus flower. Red-Billed Streamertail hummingbirds are the national bird of Jamaica. Both the hummingbird and flower are found in abundance in Jamaica. To contrast this playful illustration, it was paired with a bold sans serif font, Alfarn.
